Ayurveda

We, at Beyond MS, have found Ayurveda to be the primary and most complete source of healing and improved health and vitality. We feel it is the most effective form of overall healthcare. With its natural approach, it has been the greatest help and comfort to our founder, Richard Beecroft.

We encourage you to educate yourself about this ancient health system and explore the various tools and techniques that could significantly improve your health.

Ayurveda originated in ancient India, and is the oldest and most comprehensive system of natural healthcare known to human beings.

The foundation of Ayurveda is the belief that Multiple Sclerosis (and in fact, almost all disease) is caused by:

  • Imbalances in the physiology
  • Build-up of toxins and impurities in tissues
  • Reduced immune system response
  • Lack of overall healing ability in the body
  • Accumulation of mental and physical stress

According to Ayurveda theory, Multiple Sclerosis is an imbalance and deterioration of the nervous system's strength and stability.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the following 4 health components have to be implemented in order to restore balance, aid in healing, and help boost the body’s natural healing abilities to alleviate and cure the symptoms of MS:

  1. Balancing the nervous system by diet, nutrition, digestion and metabolism improvement
  2. Cleansing the tissues and removing toxins and impurities
  3. Strengthening the body’s natural immune response and enlivening the body’s natural healing ability
  4. Stress reduction techniques that reverse the body’s response to stress, as well as lifestyle and daily routine adjustments

Ayurvedic recommendations fulfill all 4 healing components.

MS symptoms can be severely aggravated by incorrect diet. Certain foods are clogging and obstructive to circulation and are hard to digest. These foods have the potential to create toxins which create the inflammation that leads to nerve sheath demyelination.

Consult an Ayurvedic health consultant to learn which foods you can easily digest. This will ensure you get the proper micronutrients for your system.  They can then be easily assimilated into the tissues to help rebuild their strength and balance. Your consultant will provide programs that will help you improve your overall digestion, which is an important element for overcoming MS.

Learn more about Ayurvedic cooking.  The principles involved in properly preparing food are aimed at creating the maximum nourishment for the body. This prevents incomplete digestion, poor metabolism and clogged circulation.

Proper nutrition goes a long way towards curing MS and also preventing it.

Herbal preparations have been proven to significantly improve MS symptoms and your consultant will select the appropriate formula for you. Herbs aid in the healing process, strengthen digestion and help the body purify itself of toxins and damaging free radicals.

They have been shown in numerous studies, over many decades, to balance and nourish the entire physiology.

Self-administered daily oil massage (abhyanga) provides a deeply soothing and balancing effect on the entire nervous system. It only takes 5 – 10 minutes once you get proficient at the technique.
